We are seeking a CSSD Technician (qualified or trainee) to join our Central Sterilising Services Department (CSSD). This is a critical role that helps ensure our operating theatres run safely and efficiently by maintaining the highest standards of instrument sterilisation, quality, and compliance. Whether you already have CSSD experience or are looking to start a career in healthcare, we'd love to hear from you As a Trainee CSSD Technician , you'll have the opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining an industry-recognised qualification through the New Zealand Certificate in Sterilising Technology (Level 4) , with full support from our experienced team. This is an excellent pathway into the healthcare sector, offering hands‑on learning, professional development, and the chance to make a meaningful contribution to patient care every day Day to day responsibilities include: Cleaning and decontaminating surgical instruments and equipment Inspecting instruments to ensure functionality and quality standards are met Assembling surgical instrument sets to surgeon specifications Operating sterilisation equipment and processes Managing the receipt and dispatch of loan surgical equipment Handling and transporting equipment, instrument trays, and surgical crates Maintaining accurate documentation and compliance standards To be successful in this role, you will bring: Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality A strong work ethic and reliable, professional approach Physical fitness, including the ability to lift equipment and remain on your feet for extended periods The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team Strong communication and interpersonal skills A positive attitude and willingness to learn Flexibility and the ability to remain calm and focused in a busy environment What’s in it for you?
