Citycare Property is proud to be partnering with the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) to deliver Facilities Management Services across military camps and bases throughout Aotearoa.
As part of this partnership, we're looking for a Compliance & Services Lead (Building & Environmental) to join our team at Whenuapai RNZAF Base. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in protecting and enhancing the environmental performance of a nationally significant site. From environmental compliance and contamination management to waste minimisation, pest control, and building regulatory requirements, you'll help ensure NZDF's facilities operate safely, sustainably, and in accordance with legislative obligations.

What You’ll Be Doing | Nga Kawenga Takohanga
- Lead environmental and building compliance programmes across the site, ensuring all statutory, regulatory, contractual, and organisational obligations are met.
- Manage environmental compliance activities, including waste management, contamination controls, hazardous substances, pest management programmes, and resource consent requirements.
- Take responsibility for Building Warrants of Fitness (BWOF), environmental compliance reporting, audits, inspections, and associated corrective actions.
- Support operational delivery teams in managing environmental risks and ensuring correct protocols are followed.
- Ensure environmental, quality, compliance, and non-conformance issues are identified, investigated, documented, and resolved effectively.
- Support continuous improvement across health, safety, quality, and environmental management systems.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with NZDF stakeholders, contractors, and service partners.
What We’re Looking For | A Matou e Rapu Ana
- A qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Ecology, Resource Management, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of, or interest in, environmental compliance, soil contamination management, waste minimisation, pest management, hazardous substances, or resource consent requirements.
- Experience preparing, reviewing, or contributing to environmental compliance reports, audits, monitoring programmes, or regulatory documentation.
- Understanding of New Zealand environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks, including the Resource Management Act and associated consent processes (desirable).
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across a diverse range of internal and external partners.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex operational environment.
- The legal right to work in Aotearoa, ability to pass a drug and alcohol test and willingness to consent to a Criminal Record Check
