Veterinary Nurse (Permanent Full-Time) Waihi Beach Clinic

Franklin Vets is a well-established veterinary practice servicing the South Auckland, North Waikato, Thames and Coromandel districts. We are committed to making a positive difference for our clients and their animals through exceptional veterinary care and outstanding customer service.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Diploma-qualified Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team in Waihi Beach on a permanent full-time basis.

About the Role

This is a hands-on nursing role where you'll work closely with our veterinarians and nursing team to provide high-quality patient care and support positive outcomes for our patients.

You'll enjoy a varied caseload and the opportunity to utilise your clinical skills in a supportive environment where teamwork, professional development and excellent patient care are valued.

What You'll Do

• Carry out veterinary nursing procedures under the guidance of our veterinarians.
• Assist with surgical procedures and monitor anaesthesia.
• Prepare and maintain theatre and clinical areas.
• Monitor and care for hospitalised patients.
• Administer treatments and medications as directed.
• Perform in-house laboratory testing.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Conduct veterinary nurse consultations, providing guidance on pet healthcare, nutrition, preventative care and wellbeing.
• Support patient discharges and client education.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, infection control and equipment care.
• Assisting the on-call vet as part of the Saturday morning roster

About You

You are an enthusiastic and experienced Veterinary Nurse who is passionate about animal care and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A Diploma in Veterinary Nursing.
• Previous veterinary nursing experience.
• Strong clinical nursing skills and confidence in a busy practice environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A calm and professional approach under pressure.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a supportive team culture.
• A commitment to providing excellent care for patients and clients.
