As part of their ongoing expansion and commitment to operational excellence, they are seeking an experienced Duty Manager / Front Office Supervisor to join their team!

Job Summary

The Duty Manager / FOH Supervisor leads front-of-house operations, acting as the responsible person on shift and ensuring every guest receives a consistently high standard of service. This role needs to adhere New Zealand liquor licensing obligations and host responsibility requirements across dining, bar, and private event spaces. The Duty Manager coaches and directs the FOH team in a fast-paced, high-volume rooftop venue and works closely with kitchen, bar, and hotel management to deliver seamless service.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the FOH team during service, managing table assignments, guest flow, and floor coverage.
  • Monitor service standards across dining, bar, and event spaces, collaborating with kitchen and bar teams for efficient order delivery.
  • Act as the responsible person on shift, enforcing full compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and host responsibility obligations.
  • Oversee shift opening and closing duties, including register reconciliations, cash handling, EFTPOS, tab management, and end-of-shift reporting.
  • Assist with rostering, shift coordination, and FOH staff recruitment, onboarding, and training.
  • Help monitor daily revenue and labor costs against targets; control wastage to ensure cost-effective floor operations.
  • Promptly report hazards, workplace incidents, near misses, or facility maintenance needs to the Venue Manager or Health & Safety Officer.
  • Adhere to safe working procedures and take proactive measures to prevent workplace harm.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a FOH supervisory or Duty Manager role in a high-volume hospitality.
  • Experience in a liquor-service, full-service restaurant and bar environment is compulsory.
  • Experience managing private functions and events.
  • Proficient in point-of-sale (POS systems) and basic Microsoft Office.
  • Candidate must be able to speak fluently in English & Mandarin OR Cantonese (role needs to liaise with Mandarin speaking customers and counterparts)
  • Candidate must be willing to relocate to New Zealand.
