The role | Te mahi

The Tautiaki/Warden of Te Whare o Arana/Arana College is a leadership role responsible for the effective and efficient provision of a collegiate experience for its Tauira/residents and wider associated community. The primary role is to support our residents to reach their highest academic potential, while also providing opportunities for residents to experience cultural, sporting and personal development.

We seek an experienced senior leader with proven success in dealing with the demands of a multi-faceted operation - managing people and communities.

Our ideal candidate will:

Be professionally and personally resilient and capable of handling (sometimes) difficult and complex situations,
Have demonstrated leadership, management and organisation skills,
Have the ability to perform effectively and professionally in a complex and challenging environment, including mental health and resident wellbeing related incidents,
Have experience of operating a significant budget and associated administration,
Develop effective sundry income streams including meeting rooms, hospitality, conferences, etc.,
Assist in the wider division in projects and support,
Have the ability to influence and negotiate in a practical way, and
Be trusted to act in a calm manner.

A minimum of a degree-level tertiary qualification is essential and experience in the tertiary sector would be a distinct advantage.

This is a full-time permanent live-in position and as such you will be required to reside in accommodation, which is provided by the University. The remuneration package includes on-call duties. An allowance will be paid to offset the cost of accommodation.

The appointment range for this role is $107,320 to $115,834. Top of range $124,348.
