Join the New Zealand Police Media and Communications team and help shape how one of New Zealand’s most trusted and visible organisations connects with the public. As an Advisor – Multimedia Communications, you will play a key role in creating engaging multimedia content, with a particular focus on video and digital storytelling, to support organisational priorities and strengthen trust and confidence in New Zealand Police. Working closely with communications teams, operational staff and leaders across the organisation, you will transform complex information into compelling, audience‑focused content for internal and external channels. You will also lead internal communications support for the Auckland Deployment Group, providing advice on employee engagement, communication planning and channel effectiveness. This is a hands‑on role for a creative communications professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is passionate about delivering strategic, authentic and impactful communications. • Create engaging video, multimedia, and digital content across internal and external channels.

• Lead internal communications support for the Auckland Deployment Group
\n
• Provide communications advice to leaders on engagement and message planning
\n
• Ensure content aligns with Police brand, values and strategic priorities

• Collaborate with teams across Police to deliver timely and effective communications

• Demonstrated experience in working with senior management

• Have strong communication and writing skills

• Relevant teritary qualification (degree or diploma) in Communications, Media, Journalism, Screen Production or a related discipline
\n
• Demonstrated experience in the above fields and videography and multimedia production
\n
• Strong digital content capability, particularly for social media and online platforms
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including scripting and storytelling.

The role is based in the Auckland area at our Piki Te Ao site in Otahuhu. Some travel may be required along with occasional after‑hours work.

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $96,008 and $111,013 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
