Asphalt Operator

We're looking for experienced Asphalt Operators to join one of our clients in Napier . If you've worked in asphalt or civil construction, enjoy being part of a hardworking crew, and take pride in delivering quality work, we'd like to hear from you.

You'll be part of an experienced asphalt crew working on a variety of projects across Hawke's Bay. This is a hands-on role where you'll operate asphalt machinery, assist with paving operations, and help deliver quality finished surfaces safely and efficiently.

Your day-to-day duties may include:

• Operating asphalt paving and compaction equipment.
\n
• Assisting with preparing, laying, and finishing asphalt.
\n
• Monitoring equipment performance and carrying out basic maintenance checks.
\n
• Identifying and reporting faults or mechanical issues.
\n
• Loading and coordinating asphalt deliveries when required.
\n
• Using hand and power tools safely.
\n
• Supporting the crew with general site tasks.
\n
• Following production schedules, site plans, and supervisor instructions.
\n
• Maintaining accurate operational records where required.
\n
• Working safely and following all health and safety procedures.
\n

\n
• Previous experience working in asphalt, roading, or civil construction.
\n
• Confident operating asphalt paving or compaction equipment.
\n
• Experience with asphalt plant operations is an advantage.
\n
• WTR endorsement.
\n
• Site Safe is beneficial.
\n
• Class 2 licence is an advantage but not essential.
\n
• Mechanically minded with the ability to carry out basic equipment checks.
\n
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
\n
• Reliable transport and the legal right to work in New Zealand.
\n
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
\n

• $29-$33 per hour, depending on experience.
\n
• Full-time hours with consistent work.
\n
