Garment Technologist

Clothing Journey New Zealand – Auckland, North Island Join Moochi's passionate, high performing Product Team and play a key role in bringing our designs to life. We're looking for an experienced, detail focused Garment Technologist who thrives in a collaborative environment. You'll work closely with our Design Team in garment fittings & product development and build strong relationships with our offshore vendors to ensure every piece meets Moochi's exceptional standards of fit, quality, and finish. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has attention to detail, enjoys problem solving, and is motivated by seeing beautiful products evolve from concept to completion. Experience with CAD patternmaking would be an advantage, but it's not essential. We're open to hearing from experienced people seeking either a permanent full time position or a contract opportunity. The Role As our Garment Technologist, you will join our Product Team and take on a pivotal role with responsibilities that include: Attend and manage fit sessions with the design team; fit garments and accurately communicate technical changes to offshore vendors throughout the sampling process, from initial design handover to bulk production Develop comprehensive technical packs and product specifications for both offshore and local manufacturing, including accurate grading and bulk garment specifications Communicate clearly and effectively with offshore and local vendors throughout the product development process Manage product development against the company's critical path and key dates calendar, ensuring all milestones are achieved Create, grade, and modify patterns using CAD software (PAD), including marker creation as required. Note. this is a preferred skill set in this role. However, if you are a dynamic and experienced garment tech, without these skills, then we will consider our options Identify and mitigate potential quality issues throughout development to ensure finished products meet Moochi quality standards Proactively solve problems and adapt to changing priorities in a fast paced environment Review department processes and implement improvements to contribute to increased operational efficiency and meeting departments KPI targets Are You Our Ideal Candidate?
