Job Description
As Head Mechanic, you will lead the day-to-day operation of the workshop, ensuring every vehicle leaves safely, efficiently, and repaired right the first time. Working alongside an experienced Service Advisor and another qualified Mechanic, you'll play a key role in developing the business while maintaining a strong focus on Warrant of Fitness inspections and servicing the Hireace fleet. Key responsibilities Lead the day-to-day operation of the workshop Carry out Warrant of Fitness inspections and ensure all certifications meet NZTA standards Diagnose, service and repair a wide range of vehicles Maintain our "Fix It Right the First Time" philosophy Prioritise and manage workflow for both retail customers and the Hireace fleet Identify additional repair opportunities and help grow external workshop business Ensure high standards of workshop presentation, health and safety, and productivity About you A right to work in New Zealand A recognised Automotive Trade Qualification A current Warrant of Fitness (WoF) Authority A current full New Zealand Driver Licence Your own professional tool kitStrong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities Previous experience leading or supervising a workshop (preferred) Excellent communication and customer service skills A positive attitude with the ability to motivate and develop others About us Glen Park Motors is an established automotive workshop backed by Hireace, one of New Zealand's leading vehicle rental companies.
