Job Description
GEA is one of the world's largest suppliers of systems and components to the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries. Founded in 1881 and headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany, the international technology group employs more than 18,000 people across more than 150 countries. Our equipment and expertise touch everyday life in ways most people never see — roughly every fourth package of pasta and every third chicken nugget produced worldwide is processed using GEA technology, and every second pharma separator used to manufacture vaccines and biopharmaceuticals is built by GEA. Guided by our purpose, "Engineering for a better world," we help our customers produce more sustainably and efficiently, from dairy farms to pharmaceutical plants. In Australia and New Zealand, GEA supports our customers delivering specialist engineering, service and technical solutions across critical plant operations. Behind our technical teams sits a small, close-knit ANZ People team who keep the HR and payroll engine running smoothly for our people across both countries. About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented HR Administrator to join our ANZ People team, based in either Auckland or Hamilton, supporting employees and managers across Australia and New Zealand. This role provides reliable, accurate and confidential HR administration support across both countries. Approximately 30% of your time will be spent coordinating payroll inputs with our outsourced payroll provider and answering payroll queries, with the remainder focused on HR administration, employee data maintenance in Workday and lifecycle support — from onboarding through to offboarding. You’ll join a small, close-knit ANZ People team of four: the Country People Partner ANZ (based in New Zealand), two further HR team members in New Zealand, and one in Australia. Key Responsibilities Provide accurate and timely HR administration support across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring employee records, HR processes and documentation are maintained to a high standard. Coordinate payroll inputs with the outsourced payroll provider, including collation, checking and submission of payroll data, overtime calculations, leave adjustments and other payroll-related changes. Maintain employee data in Workday, ensuring records are accurate, complete and updated in line with internal processes and compliance requirements. Support HR service delivery by preparing employment documentation, coordinating onboarding and offboarding activities, maintaining employee files and responding to routine employee and manager queries. Update, document and improve HR administrative processes, templates and work instructions to support consistent service delivery across the ANZ HR function. Use Microsoft Excel to prepare, check and reconcile HR and payroll-related data, including overtime, allowances, reporting extracts and data validation activities. About You Skills & Experience 2–3 years' experience in an HR administration and payroll coordination role, with a demonstrated ability to manage competing deadlines across recurring payroll and HR cycles.
