Facilities Assistant

King’s College is an independent Anglican secondary co-educational boarding and day-school located in Otahuhu, Auckland, seeking a dedicated Facilities Assistant to join our dynamic team. Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday with occasional requests for out-of-hours work (notified in advance). Key Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality facilities support, including effective management of daily waste services Assist the Maintenance Manager with minor repairs and general maintenance across facilities Uphold Health and Safety standards, prioritising the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors Work collaboratively with the Property and Services team to achieve departmental objectives Build and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and contractors Ideal Candidate: Experience in property maintenance Possession and maintenance of a valid NZ vehicle driver's license Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and within a team Physically fit and capable of meeting job requirements Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to Health and Safety standards Personal Attributes: Mature, responsible, and capable of handling emergency situations calmly Demonstrates honesty, reliability, and respect for confidentiality Customer service focused with a professional demeanour Organised, methodical, and punctual, with a proactive approach to tasks Requirements: Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand and will be subject to vetting under the Vulnerable Children Act.
