Mō te tūranga | About the role Our Te Ohu Aroākapa | Contact Centre team are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Tuitui | Customer Support Administrator to join their high-performing team on a fixed-term basis, providing parental leave cover. This is a dynamic, front‑line role where no two days are the same. You’ll support a passionate, customer‑focused team dedicated to improving outcomes for learners across Aotearoa. As the first point of contact for our kaiako | teachers, you’ll respond to queries across a range of channels (phone, email, online chat) on topics including teacher registration and certification, and competence and conduct processes. You’ll play a key role in providing accurate, timely and professional advice in line with legislation and policy while ensuring every teacher receives an excellent customer experience. This is a varied and rewarding role where you will: Provide accurate, timely, and authoritative advice across a wide range of Teaching Council functions. Support customers through registration, practising certificate, and application processes. Interpret and apply Council policies, processes, and regulatory requirements. Resolve complex and sensitive enquiries with professionalism, empathy, and sound judgement. Maintain accurate customer records and ensure compliance with privacy and information management requirements. Identify opportunities to improve customer service, systems, and processes. You are passionate about helping people and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume customer service environment. You enjoy solving problems, learning new things, and providing outstanding service, even when dealing with complex or challenging situations. To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring: Minimum 12 months of experience in a fast-paced customer centric environment, either in a contact centre or similar customer service role Strong competency of Tikanga, Te AoMāori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and Te Reo Māori and knowledge of Pasifika cultures would be an advantage Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, or regulatory requirements Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor information to different audiences. Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records. Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
