OneStaff Hawke's Bay is proud to be recruiting on behalf of Hawkes Bay Collision Repair, a well-established and respected collision repair business that is locally owned and operated within the Hawkes Bay. This is not your average mechanic role. We are seeking an experienced Mechanic/Tech to help us repair Collision damaged vehicles back to OEM Standards Hawkes bay Collision Repair work all vehicles, from minor scratches and dents to major crash damage. We are required to repair vehicles back to OEM standards in their pre accident condition. This isn’t Panel beating and spray painting like you might know, this is working on modern vehicles of all makes and models, with advance safety and other systems, all of which need to work as they were design by the manufacturer, Specialising in crash performance( Returning structural and non-structural components back to OEM following Manufacturers specific repair procedures and insuring the integrity of the vehicle and all systems will perform as designed, should it be in another accident. The Role: As part of the team at Hawkes Bay Collision Repair, your responsibilities will include: Interior and exterior strip-out and reassembly of vehicles and parts to complete panel and painting tasks. This can range from minor panel strip outs (guards, Doors, Handles Moulding etc. to large scale structural repairs, in some cases engines in/out, subframes, steering racks, transmission etc. Full Chassi Replacements, (Body’s, Drive lines, all parts associated with Replacing a chassis etc. Suspension, Strip/fit/replacement and parts associated with Impact/collision damage Frontal radiator and cooling system repairs and replacement, Supporting panel beaters and spray painters throughout the repair process Diagnosing and rectifying accident-related mechanical issues Ensuring all repairs are completed safely and to a high standard De Gasing & Re Gasing A/C Systems for Parts replacement – Condensers, A/C Pumps Etc Basic Wiring Repairs ECU Pre and Post scanning vehicles, ensuring all systems are working back to pre accident conditions. Performing ADAS Calibrations ensuring all systems are working back to pre accident conditions. And of course the odd restoration and workshop projects Liasing with other Companies (Sublets). Locks Smiths, Auto Electricians, tyres, wheel repairs, wheel alignments, Mechanical Repairs unable to be carried out inhouse etc Isolating high Voltage EV Systems allowing for repair and welding safely around EV(High Voltage systems Skills and attributes: 3–5 years' experience in relevant areas/Trades Sound mechanical knowledge and problem-solving ability High attention to detail and pride in workmanship Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude Full NZ Driver Licence Competitive remuneration based on experience Work with a highly respected and busy collision repair business Modern workshop and equipment Supportive team culture and upskilling/training where required to move in to the collision repair area.
