Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor for both commercial and residential builds. The position is based at our Montreal Street office and reports to the General Manager - Christchurch and Wellington. Your new role involves: Working independently and running your own jobs Supporting other Quantity Surveyors in the team as required and developing junior members of the team Forming relationships and working collaboratively with the Miles Construction teams Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with our clients Preparation and submission of tender bids Contract administration for the full lifecycle of a project Working with other members of the team to achieve expected outcomes for projects Providing accurate and timely reporting for clients and internally Ensuring all health and safety, and ensuring construction standards and schedules are in accordance with Miles Construction quality management principles About you – you will have: Experience in full end to end QS functions A tertiary qualification either Diploma or Degree level in Quantity Surveying A working knowledge of standard NZ contracts (NZ3910, NZ3915 and Masterbuild) Sound construction knowledge with a proven track record of 5 plus years as a QSExperience in estimating, tendering and negotiating Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Up to date knowledge of market trends, industry influences and best practice The ability to continually raise the bar, thinking and acting in the long term We can offer: The opportunity to be part of a very progressive and successful organisation A career path with opportunities for professional development A great team environment, working on exciting and diverse projects Support and leadership from the wider team Please note applicants must either be a NZ resident or hold a valid NZ work visa. #J-18808-Ljbffr
