United Civil Construction Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager – Structures & Bridges to lead our civil construction projects across Hawke's Bay and the Central North Island. As well as Project Engineers who have experience with Bridges. This role is ideally suited to a Project Manager (and PE) with extensive New Zealand structural construction experience , particularly in the successful delivery of bridge and major structural infrastructure projects . You will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be working on challenging and interesting projects that transform communities, with a strong focus on structural and bridge construction. What you'll be doing Develop and manage detailed project plans, ensuring all tasks and milestones are clearly defined and communicated to the project team. Lead the delivery of complex bridge and structural infrastructure projects from planning through to completion. Oversee the coordination of subcontractors and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution. Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and implement corrective actions as needed. Provide regular updates to senior management and clients on project status, budget, and any issues or concerns. Ensure adherence to all relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements. Actively participate in the tendering and proposal process for new projects. Foster a positive and collaborative team culture while mentoring and developing junior project staff. What we’re looking for Extensive structural construction experience in New Zealand is essential, with significant hands-on experience delivering bridge projects and other major structural infrastructure works. Demonstrated success delivering $10m+ structural and bridge construction projects from commencement through to completion. Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management. Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Project Manager in the civil construction industry across New Zealand, Australia, or the UK. Must be open to working away - given the nature of our projects you must be available to stay away from home Proven track record of successfully delivering complex infrastructure projects safely, on time, and within budget. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and regulatory authorities. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering practical and cost-effective solutions. Proficient in the use of project management software and tools. Thorough understanding of construction methodologies, contract administration, risk management, and NZS 3910, including the practical application of delay and disruption notices, Extensions of Time (EOTs), and variations. A capable and effective people leader who can motivate project teams to work safely and productively.
