HealthForce NZ - North Shore, North Island We are excited to partner with a brand-new healthcare practice opening its doors in October 2026 on the North Shore , and we're looking for an exceptional Practice Manager to join the journey from the very beginning. Starting in mid August/September , you'll play a pivotal role in helping establish the practice, build strong operational foundations, and bring the vision to life ahead of opening. About the opportunity As the Practice Manager , you'll lead the day-to-day operations of this new practice, overseeing administrative, financial, and business functions to ensure a seamless patient experience and a thriving healthcare environment. Key responsibilities Assisting with and being part of the team in setting up this new practice and implementing processes and procedures. Being part of the team recruiting new staff for the practice (nurses and medical receptionists). Monitoring staff performance, conducting appraisals, and managing disciplinary issues. Identifying staff training needs, providing training, and ensuring staff are competent in using the practice management system (e.g., Medtech, indic). Developing and managing staff rosters, including managing annual and sick leave. Developing annual budgets, overseeing financial performance, and preparing financial reports for practice owners. Managing payroll, ensuring tax compliance (PAYE, GST, KiwiSaver), debt collection, and managing invoices/payments. Ensuring the practice maximises funding streams and adheres to Ministry of Health or PHO (Primary Health Organisation) contractual requirements. Acting as the Health and Safety Officer, maintaining hazard registers, and ensuring a safe environment for staff and patients, particularly under the Health and Safety at Work Act. Overseeing the daily running of the clinic, including managing reception and administrative systems. Implementing the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (Partnership, Participation, Protection) to ensure equitable health access and outcomes, particularly for Māori. Fostering a culturally safe environment for staff and patients. Essential skills & experience At least 3-7 years' experience within primary care Experience with general practice PMS (Medtech32, Medtech Evolution, or Indici) is preferred) Ability to work collaboratively and prioritise workload Excellent financial and budgeting skills Great with people The role offers Full-time, 40 hours a week. Market-related remuneration. Ideal candidates will have Experience in a busy leadership role within a healthcare setting (Primary care is required).
