IQP Building Compliance Inspector

Defend Fire Protection Pty Ltd – Christchurch, South Island Defend Fire Protection is a small, locally owned business specializing in fire alarm systems with a BWOF team who look after sites across the wider Canterbury district. We are looking for a professional and easy-going IQP to join our BWOF team and carry out annual inspections for a range of specified systems. Key responsibilities Carry out building compliance inspections and routine system testing Work collaboratively with our team with clear communication Issue annual reports and Form 12A certificates to secure Building Warrants of Fitness (BWoF) Complete routine checks on specified systems per compliance schedules Fault-find, repair, and test systems to ensure required operational performance Complete precise job sheets and comprehensive annual reports Advise building owners, property managers, and territorial authorities on compliance matters About you Current, valid IQP registration with local regional Councils Proven experience checking Specified Systems (e.g., SS1-SS15, Backflow, Fire, HVAC) Thorough working knowledge of the NZ Building Act 2004 and NZ Building Code Excellent written and verbal English skills for client-facing consultations Current, clean New Zealand Full Class 1 driver's licence About us Defend Fire Protection is a small, locally owned business specializing in fire alarm systems with a BWOF team who look after sites across the wider Canterbury district.
