Ormiston Surgical & Endoscopy Limited – Flat Bush, North Island We have two permanent, full-time opportunities to join the Ormiston Hospital team. Whether your expertise lies in post-operative recovery or the fast-paced environment of the operating theatre, we want to hear from you. Role 1: Registered Nurse - PACU This position operates on a rostered basis with flexible late-start options. This allows you to manage your morning commitments while supporting the team's peak afternoon recovery periods. Registered Nurse with a current NZ Nursing Council Practicing Certificate and valid working rights for New Zealand. Minimum of 2 years’ post-graduate experience in a Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) environment. Strong capabilities in discharge coordination, patient and whānau education, and seamless communication with Stage 1 recovery, surgeons, and anaesthetists. The clinical flexibility to step in and support Stage 1 recovery when required. A willingness to contribute to quality improvement, including the development, review, and updating of procedure-specific discharge information sheets. Proven clinical competence and a strong commitment to evidence-based practice. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative, team-focused approach. A positive, adaptable attitude and the ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure. Experience in any of the following specialties is highly desirable: Orthopaedics Plastics Laparoscopic Gynaecology Urology General Surgery Role 2: Registered Nurse - Theatre Current NZ Nursing Council Practicing Certificate and have a scope of practice applicable to working in theatre Valid working rights for New Zealand Minimum of 3 years' post-graduate experience within an Operating Theatre environment in New Zealand Experience in any of the following specialities is required: Orthopaedics, Plastics, Laparoscopic, ENT, Gynaecology, Urology, Robotic or General surgery Proven clinical competence and commitment to evidence-based practice A positive, adaptable attitude with the ability to manage pressure effectively A collaborative team player with a patient-centred approach Note to Applicants Please clearly specify in your cover letter which position you are applying for (PACU or Theatre).
