Architectural Technician / Draftsperson - Residential Construction

The Role Working closely with the sales, estimating and construction teams, you will support the delivery of residential design and documentation from concept through to construction. Key responsibilities include: Producing concept plans and working drawings for residential projects Preparing building consent and construction documentation Undertaking site measurements and gathering project information Supporting the drafting team across multiple live residential projects Liaising with internal teams, including sales, estimating and construction Working with engineers, consultants and suppliers where required Ensuring documentation complies with the New Zealand Building Code and relevant standards Managing multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail G.J. Ideally, you will bring: Around 1+ years' residential drafting experience within New Zealand A qualification in Architectural Technology, Architecture or a related discipline LBP Design 1 accreditation would be advantageous but is not essential. Support can be providedto work towards licensing Exposure to ArchiCAD is advantageous An understanding of New Zealand residential construction methods and the New Zealand Building Code, with knowledge of NZS 3604 being advantageous The ability to interpret sketches, concepts and design intent into accurate technical documentation Strong attention to detail and technical drafting skills Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Good communication and interpersonal skills A positive attitude, willingness to learn and a strong work ethic A genuine desire to build a long-term career within residential drafting Culture & Opportunity At G.J.
