We are part of the TenCate Grass group, the largest manufacturer of synthetic turf fibres and components globally. In New Zealand, we work with schools, sports clubs, councils, commercial developers and landscape contractors across a wide range of segments and applications. We’re looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to take ownership of four segments across Auckland, Northland and nationwide. This is a genuine field sales role for someone who enjoys being on the road, building lasting relationships and closing deals - from initial prospecting and site visits through to quotation, negotiation and order handover. Region & Travel You’ll be based in Auckland and work closely with the Sales Manager and office-based team. Regular travel will be required within Auckland. Travel outside of Auckland within the North Island may be required to support smaller segment responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development Own the full sales cycle across your segments: prospecting, site visits, quoting, negotiation and order handover. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, councils, schools and sports bodies. Build and grow your segments, identifying and securing new business opportunities. Meet or exceed agreed sales targets while maximising margin and profitability. Market & Segment Management Develop a strong understanding of the synthetic grass market across your segments and territories. Maintain accurate pipeline and opportunity records in Salesforce. Provide regular forecasts, market analyses and sales reports to the Sales Manager. Input into pricing decisions, budget planning and demand forecasting for each segment. Represent TigerTurf at trade shows and industry events as required. Technical & Customer Support Develop and apply technical knowledge of turf products, installation processes and civil requirements to advise clients confidently. Act as the point of liaison between customers, regulators and TigerTurf NZ operations. Provide solutions for quality claims, delivery issues and pricing queries as they arise. What We’re Looking For Experience & Skills Proven track record in field sales or business development - ideally across construction, building materials, landscaping, sports or education sectors. Confident and credible relationship builder, comfortable engaging with school decision-makers, council officers, contractors and commercial clients. Strong commercial acumen: pipeline management, margin awareness and accurate forecasting. Technical capability and willingness to develop deep product and installation knowledge. Excellent communication and presentation skills across all levels of an organisation. Disciplined CRM usage and reporting habits. Self-motivated and able to operate independently in a field-based role. Comfortable with regular travel, including nationwide coverage as required by segment. Qualifications & License Full, clean New Zealand driver’s license (essential). Tertiary qualification in business, sales, marketing or a related field (desirable). New Zealand Permanent Residency or Citizenship required.
