About the Role As a Psychiatric Registrar at Tauranga and Whakatāne Hospitals, you will be part of a dynamic team providing psychiatric care to the region's population. You will rotate through Tauranga Hospital, with an opportunity to work in Whakatāne Hospital for a 13-week period. The training program is accredited by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), offering both basic and advanced levels of training. About you As a Psychiatric Registrar, you will have a strong passion for psychiatry and a commitment to enhancing the mental well-being of those in the community. You will hold an MBChB or equivalent medical qualification, and full registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ). A keen interest in psychiatry and a dedication to pursuing RANZCP-accredited training are essential. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team are key. While previous psychiatric experience is preferred, it is not essential, and we are open to applicants with varying levels of experience.
