Dog Daycare Assistant

Jolly Dogs Daycare and Grooming – North Shore, North Island We are based in Wairau Valley, North Shore, Auckland. We're looking for a happy, confident, dog-loving superstar to join our friendly team at our busy doggy daycare. This is a part-time position (20 hours per week) with the following regular shifts: Tuesday: 8:00am – 12:00pm Wednesday: 6:45am – 10:45am Thursday: 1:00pm – 5:00pm Friday: 8:30am – 5:00pm The ideal applicant will also be available to pick up additional hours when covering staff on annual leave or sick leave. About the Role Every day is different! You'll be working alongside a small, passionate team to provide a safe, fun, and enriching environment for our daycare dogs. Supervising and safely managing groups of dogs of all sizes and breeds Monitoring the health, wellbeing, and behaviour of dogs in our care Providing enrichment activities, play, and plenty of cuddles Maintaining clean, hygienic, and sanitised play areas Greeting customers and their dogs at drop-off and pick-up Managing bookings, diary scheduling, payments, and basic administration General cleaning and upkeep of the daycare facilities About You We're looking for someone who genuinely loves dogs and enjoys working in a fun, fast-paced environment. Confident handling dogs of all sizes, breeds, and energy levels Physically fit and comfortable being on your feet for much of the day (don't worry, we still make time for dog cuddles on the couch!) Calm, patient, and observant when managing dog behaviour Friendly and professional when dealing with customers Organised, reliable, and able to manage your own workload A great team player who enjoys working in a close-knit team Comfortable using a computer and completing basic administration tasks Requirements Applicants must: Be fluent in English Have New Zealand residency or a valid New Zealand work visa Be currently living in New Zealand The position is not open to applicants from overseas requiring sponsorship/visas to work in New Zealand.
