Job Description

Otago Fish & Game is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to help shape the future of these resources and the organisation responsible for protecting them. Working closely with the Otago Fish & Game Council, you will lead the organisation's strategic direction and performance, support and develop a skilled and committed team, provide trusted governance support, advocate on issues that matter to anglers and hunters, and build effective relationships with iwi, councils, regulators, communities and partner organisations. This is a rare opportunity to combine leadership, environmental stewardship, advocacy and community engagement in a role that delivers meaningful outcomes for both current and future generations. Based at Otago Fish & Game's head office in Mosgiel, the role works across the wider Otago region, engaging with communities, stakeholders and environmental issues from the Southern Lakes and Central Otago to the region's rivers, wetlands and coastal environments. What You'll Bring You will be a credible and influential leader with: Senior leadership experience and sound commercial judgement. The ability to think strategically and navigate complex issues. Experience working with or advising governance bodies. Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills. Financial and organisational management capability. Excellent communication skills and professional credibility. A genuine interest in environmental stewardship and sustainable resource management. Experience in environmental management, conservation, natural resource management, local government or a related sector will be highly regarded. Why Join Otago Fish & Game?
