About the Role We are seeking three enthusiastic Medical Officers to jointhe Intensive Care Unit at Christchurch Hospital for fixed-term appointments oftwo years. These positions offer an exceptional opportunity to workwithin a busy tertiary referral ICU, providing care to critically ill adult andpaediatric patients from across the South Island. You will be part of a highlyskilled multidisciplinary team managing a diverse case mix including trauma,cardiothoracic, neurosurgical, medical, surgical and complex specialtypatients. There is an aeromedical retrieval component to this role. Working alongside Intensive Care Specialists, Registrars,Nursing staff and Allied Health professionals, you will be actively involved inthe assessment, management and ongoing care of critically ill patients. Youwill be expected to supervise registrar/junior staff, and will have readyaccess to consultant back up, This role provides an excellent environment fordoctors looking to further develop their acute care, procedural and criticalcare skills while contributing to high-quality patient outcomes. The Intensive Care Unit is a modern, high-acuity servicedelivering comprehensive critical care across a broad range of specialties. About You To be successful in this role you will have: Eligibilityfor registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand Atleast four years of postgraduate clinical experience (or equivalent),including at least 12 months of ICU experience. Previousexperience in acute care, emergency medicine, anaesthesia, ICU or otherrelevant specialties is highly desirable.
