About the role We are seeking an experienced Qualified Pharmacy Manager to lead our Unichem Kilbirnie . This is a full-time position based in the Wellington area . As Pharmacy Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the pharmacy, ensuring the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical services, maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements, and creating a positive working environment for your team. This role is pivotal to the success of our pharmacy operation and provides an excellent opportunity to influence patient care and business growth within our community. What you'll be doing Overseeing this busy high performing pharmacy , communication with team and team leaders. Managing and supervising the pharmacy team (30+), including recruitment, training, performance management, and staff development to foster a high-performing culture. Managing staffing requirements and scheduling including leave and locum management with your team leaders/managers. Ensuring compliance with all pharmacy regulations, health and safety requirements, and professional standards set by relevant regulatory bodies. Liaising with senior managment, team leaders and outreach teams to ensure well executed community events Providing clinical and professional advice to patients and healthcare professionals, ensuring safe and appropriate medication use. Building and maintaining strong relationships with patients, GPs, and other healthcare providers to enhance service provision and community health outcomes Implementing and maintaining quality assurance procedures and best practice protocols within the pharmacy Promoting and developing pharmaceutical services such as medication reviews, immunisations, and health screening programmes Ensuring accurate record-keeping and data management in compliance with privacy and confidentiality requirements Contributing to the strategic planning and development of the pharmacy to support growth and improved patient outcomes What we’re looking for Current pharmacy registration with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand or eligible for immediate registration Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop pharmacy staff Minimum 2 years' experience working as a qualified pharmacist, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role Demonstrated expertise in pharmacy operations, including dispensing, stock control, and quality assurance Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations, legislation, and professional standards applicable in New Zealand Proven business acumen with experience in people, financial and commercial managment Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients, staff, and healthcare professionals Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing operational challenges Strong commitment to patient safety, professional ethics, and continuous professional development.
