Job Description

Operating in New Zealand and Australia, Pasture First Research is a leading contract research organisation responsible for providing our clients with reliable independent field studies to determine the agronomic performance, efficacy and safety of new and existing seed, fertiliser and crop protection products. The role of the Research Agronomist is designed to assist our R&D team run and manage field trials in the Canterbury and South Island region. Because of this you will need to be a self-starter, with the ability to work alone, be planned and well organized, and have excellent attention to detail. Experience in managing Crop Protection and Pasture Evaluation trials is a must for this position. Key tasks include (but not limited to): Spraying and managing Crop Protection trials Measuring and harvesting Pasture and Forage Seed evaluation trials Insect and plant disease identification and scoring Forage sample collection Agrichemical and fertiliser application Scientific report writing This is a great opportunity to work outdoors in the Canterbury region, while gaining valuable agronomic and scientific research skills.
