Salary $101,492 -$121,057 NZD (commensurate with experience) 12-month contract The Role Gisborne Hospital is a 115-bed acute care facility serving a population of around 50,000 across the East Cape. With Māori making up 65% of admissions and nearly half of the local population, the hospital has a strong commitment to Māori health, culture, and customs, making this an incredibly rewarding environment for doctors new to New Zealand. As a well-equipped secondary hospital, Gisborne provides a broad range of services including general medicine, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics, orthopaedics, ICU, emergency medicine, mental health, and rehabilitation. On-site diagnostics include both MRI and CT, supporting a comprehensive range of clinical services. Join three acute medical teams with an unselected medical take – varied presentations and pathology. Work closely with consultants and specialists in General Medicine, Respiratory, Cardiology, and ICU. Participate in admissions, inpatient care, and multidisciplinary management.
