As a Kitchen Assistant , you will support the delivery of high‑quality catering services at Wairarapa Hospital during weekends. You’ll help prepare and serve meals, maintain hygiene standards, and ensure patients receive safe, nutritious food in a professional healthcare environment. This is a Permanent position with 14 hours guaranteed per week. Assist with food preparation, portioning, and plating meals in line with dietary and food safety requirements. Maintain clean and hygienic kitchen and dining areas, including dishwashing and equipment cleaning. Deliver friendly and professional service while supporting patient meal requirements. Follow hospital food safety, infection control, and hygiene practices at all times. Support stock handling, replenishment, and adherence to operational procedures. Experience in a kitchen, catering, or hospitality role (preferred but not essential). A reliable and hardworking team player who can also work independently. Physically fit and comfortable performing manual tasks in a busy environment. Strong communication skills with a positive, caring attitude.
