He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives by helping them reconnect, learn, grow, and achieve independence. If you're passionate about supporting others while also developing your own skills, this role is for you. In this role, you'll collaborate with your team and external partners to support whānau with goal setting and personal development (such as life skills, relationship building, and communication). Every day will be diverse, and you'll constantly learn and grow alongside the people you support. Key responsibilities include: Building strong relationships with tangata whaiora and their whānau. Providing daily support aligned with client goals and support plans, including risk management and safety plans. Guiding tangata whaiora to identify and achieve significant personal goals. Actively participating in team meetings and sharing ideas and updates. Ensuring all incidents are documented accurately and professionally. We currently have one permanent full-time (40 hours) position available. We’re looking for someone who is positive, adaptable, and compassionate, with a genuine desire to support people on their journey towards recovery and reintegration. You'll be a natural problem solver who can think on your feet, build strong community connections, and work alongside people in a strengths-based and mana-enhancing way. You’ll bring a non-judgmental approach, a belief in people's potential, and the ability to maintain professional boundaries while encouraging growth, resilience, and positive change. You will ideally bring: Experience working with people in our community who need support, ideally within mental health, addiction, social services, or a similar environment Experience in a similar role and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships A Level 4 (or higher) qualification in Mental Health and Addiction (or equivalent) Strong written communication skills, with the ability to complete accurate documentation and reports Strong Microsoft Office skills and confidence using technology to support your work Excellent organisation skills, including the ability to manage schedules, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively when supporting people and navigating challenges Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A commitment to recovery-focused practice and culturally safe ways of working A current First Aid certificate including CPR, or the willingness and ability to complete this A good understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in practice Full eligibility to work in New Zealand and a full, valid New Zealand driver licence Join us to experience a work environment where values are not just words on a page.
