Alliance Group has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Shift Engineer, we are looking for a “can do” person for our Pukeuri Plant. The Role This role is part of a close-knit team of four, working 12-hour shifts (6–6) to provide 24/7 refrigeration support. Flexibility is key, with weekend work and some on-call duties required. This is a critical position responsible for the operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of our ammonia refrigeration plant and site utilities. This role is a key role in maintaining plant reliability while ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance and operational excellence. You’ll work alongside an experienced engineering team in a modern processing facility where no two days are the same. Our plant operates with an advanced automated refrigeration system, and as a Shift Engineer, you’ll be the hands‑on expert ensuring it runs safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Include Refrigeration & Utilities Operations Compliance & Documentation Maintenance & Engineering Support Continuous Improvement & Communication About You We're interested in people who are practical, safety-focused and enjoy solving problems. Ideally You'll Have A Mechanical Engineering or Refrigeration trade qualification Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems (highly desirable) Strong mechanical fault-finding skills Experience using maintenance management systems Excellent communication and teamwork skills A commitment to health, safety and continuous improvement Familiarity with SCADA systems and industrial automation. Proficient in Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems. Advantageous Qualifications NZ Certificate in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (Level 4) NZQA Unit Standard 3847 Approved Filler Certification (Ammonia) Confined Space and Permit to Work training Don't tick every box?
