Support Worker

In this role, you'll work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including GPs, Health Improvement Practitioners, Health Coaches, Nurse Practitioners, and Social Workers, supporting tangata whaiora with practical, community-based solutions in the low to moderate mental health and addictions space. Access & Choice is a responsive and accessible service focused on helping people overcome barriers to wellbeing. No two days are the same, you could be supporting someone to manage their health, connect with community resources, access housing or social services, or navigate mental health and addiction challenges while linking them with longer-term support. You'll be part of a strong support network and will work closely with the Service Manager to build and maintain effective partnerships, ensuring a collaborative, tangata whaiora-centred approach that delivers positive outcomes. This is a permanent, full-time role (Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week 8.00am - 4.30pm) that offers variety and the chance to make a real impact in people's lives. The ideal candidate will bring a compassionate, solutions-focused approach to conflict resolution, along with excellent planning skills to support tangata whaiora in achieving their goals. Your deep understanding of community services and strong local connections will be key in supporting tangata whaiora to access the right resources at the right time. To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have the following: A Level 4 (or higher) qualification in Mental Health and Addiction (or equivelent) Must hold and maintain First Aid certification including CPR (or be willing and able to complete this) Previous experience within the mental health and/or addiction sector Understanding of Te Whare Tapa Wha/Hua Oranga, A Full New Zealand Drivers License Experience with Microsoft Office products and ideally Client Management systems i.e. Recordbase, although training will be given Join us to experience a work environment where values are not just words on a page.
