Qualified Mechanic

Vincent Street Autocentre – Howick, North Island Vincent Street Autocentre is seeking a Qualified Mechanic to join our small team in Howick, Auckland. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your mechanical expertise in a dynamic automotive environment. You will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing vehicles to the highest standards, contributing directly to our reputation for quality service and customer satisfaction. This position is integral to our operations, ensuring our clients receive reliable, professional automotive care. Key responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles, including servicing, inspections, and diagnostics Identify mechanical faults and defects using diagnostic equipment and tools Execute repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used Ensure all work areas and tools are kept clean and organised Communicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle condition, recommended repairs, and timelines What we’re looking for A valid motor mechanic qualification or equivalent recognised certification. A WOF Inspection certification would be advantageous Proven experience working as a qualified mechanic in a professional workshop environment Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and suspension Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and mechanical tools Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and repair specifications Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach A valid driver’s licence and willingness to undertake test drives Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the automotive industry Preferably experience with both petrol, hybrid and diesel engines What we offer Vincent Street Autocentre is committed to providing a supportive and professional working environment.
