We're looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer to lead the design of intuitive, accessible customer experiences across Mercury's digital channels. You'll work across complex products and end-to-end journeys — from research and journey mapping through to wireframes, prototypes, and polished interface design — partnering closely with product, tech, content, and analytics teams to shape experiences that make self-service, engagement, and channel shift easier for our customers. Tāu e mahi ai | What you'll be doing Own and lead the design of intuitive, accessible, and effective digital experiences across Mercury's digital channels. Translate customer needs, business objectives, data, and technical considerations into clear, strategic UX/UI direction. Lead cross-functional research, usability testing, and insight-led design to define customer problems and opportunities. Own delivery of journey maps, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and detailed interface designs. Own and evolve Mercury's design systems, UX/UI frameworks, and reusable components and patterns. Lead workshops, design reviews, and stakeholder conversations across product, technology, and content teams. Use analytics, experimentation, and post-launch insights to drive continuous improvement of digital experiences. Tāu ka kawe mai | What you'll bring With 10+ years' experience and a strong portfolio to show for it, you'll bring evidence-based thinking, strong stakeholder influence, and genuine craft to a role that also helps shape Mercury's broader design systems and UX maturity. A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership of UX/UI design across complex digital products, services, or journeys. Proven experience creating journey maps, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and reusable design patterns. A track record of applying research, usability testing, data insight, and behavioural feedback to shape design decisions. Strong stakeholder influence, with confidence leading workshops and communicating design rationale. Proficiency with tools such as Figma, Lucid, Miro, Jira, or Confluence. A good understanding of agile delivery, content design, brand application, and design system practices. A relevant tertiary qualification in UX, interaction, product, or service design is desirable.
