Field Service Technician/TA

Join our small team as a Field Service Technician/TA at Groeneveld-Beka. Groeneveld-Beka owned by Timken in the US is a world leader in the design, production and distribution of transport efficiency products to service the transport, mining, agriculture and construction sectors. As part of this role, you will be required to travel to all sorts of sites throughout Auckland and New Zealand regional areas. Some will be so remote you’ll wonder where you are, and others are just down the road. You’ll be installing and maintaining automatic lubrication systems on trucks, earth-moving equipment, and fixed and mobile plants. But wait there's more! Here's what we can do for you: We have a range of different jobs: You'll be out and about, visiting new places and working with some cool, innovative and sometimes just plain weird machines that you’ll have no idea what they are used for. Scenic trips: Explore the rugged and beautiful scenery (some not so beautiful) while you drive to various sites and work independently. Sometimes you’ll see another independent field technician working on the same machine as you but don’t worry they'll be just as startled to see you too. We will train you: Buddied with one of our more senior, as in more experienced techs who will teach you everything you need to know about installing and maintaining automatic lubrication systems. We have the best expert in Australasia (we didn't make this up, he really is the expert). Plus, we'll pay you too!! Here's what you'll need to do: Install and maintain automatic lubrication systems: on trucks, earth-moving equipment, and fixed and mobile plants. We have diagrams and manuals. Get in the van and drive to places: Complete product installations and service work at customer/assigned locations. Be proud of your work: Maintain a clean, organised work area while performing installations and service work. Assist customers by unveiling the mysteries of their lubrication system in a way that won't have them nodding off. Some other important things to add: We strongly recommend you like trucks, grease, dirt, driving, earthmoving equipment, and all things mechanical. You need to be a self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills. You need to be a fast learner, understand technical diagrams hand drawn on the back of the dusty van and a little bit of electrical knowledge. Good communication skills with the team and customers.
