Internal Auditor (Field & Project Based) As our Internal Auditor, you will bypass the standard desk-bound corporate routine. You will be the eyes and ears of our senior leadership on the ground, establishing audit objectives and executing targeted audit methodologies across active infrastructure projects. Your focus will bridge the gap between field reality and financial reporting, tracking cost-effectiveness, outside site controls, and material compliance. This is a dynamic, non-sedentary role where 70% to 80% of your week will be spent directly across our multiple active project sites, ensuring operational excellence, protecting assets, and providing independent, objective assurance. Key responsibilities Plan and conduct physical site audits across active utility and civil corridors to evaluate compliance with quality processes, council requirements, and NZTA standards Collect and analyze on-site data to evaluate the cost-effectiveness and underlying risks of our operational processes and verify that actual physical progress matches financial progress claims and client billings Manage the physical audit and reconciliation of high-value civil materials, tools, and heavy machinery deployed across active sites and yards to eliminate wastage and variance Maintain our operational risk registers, identify emerging field liabilities, and report directly to management on the effectiveness of our internal control systems Prepare site evaluation reports and present objective findings to senior leaders to provide guidance on structural improvements and legislative compliance Track the ongoing implementation of audit recommendations directly with site foremen and project managers About you A relevant tertiary qualification at a minimum of a Diploma level or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field Previous experience as an internal auditor, project accountant, or compliance officer—ideally within construction, civil engineering, logistics, or heavy industry Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word for processing field variance data and compiling formal reports A full, clean driver's license is absolutely essential, as you will travel independently between multiple active Auckland project sites daily High commerciality, analytical thinking, tenacity, and the industry awareness required to challenge data and verify physical tracking realities Exceptional interpersonal skills to communicate clearly and adapt your style whether you are speaking with field crew on-site or presenting to executive directors About us Sen Ventures Limited is a premier player in New Zealand's civil, construction, and utilities infrastructure sector.
