Role Description This is a summer session role but could lead into full time role, on-site Scuba Diving Instructor role based in Hamilton. The Scuba Diving Instructor will conduct training sessions from beginner to advanced levels, including classroom theory, pool work, and open-water dives. The role involves planning and delivering PADI/SSI-aligned courses, assessing diver skills, monitoring safety, and maintaining detailed training records. Instructors will assist with equipment checks, basic gear maintenance, and preparation before and after dives. Daily responsibilities also include engaging with customers, answering questions about courses and dive trips, supporting shop operations as needed, and promoting a positive, inclusive dive culture. And day to day running of the dive shop as well, having retail experience would be an advantage Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in Scuba Diving Instruction, including course delivery, skills assessment, and safe supervision of dives. Candidates should have practical Diving and Scuba Diving skills, with confident in-water abilities and experience in varying conditions. Candidates should hold relevant PADI/SSI certifications (e.g., PADI/SII Open Water Scuba Instructor or higher) and maintain current teaching status and Worksafe COC medical Candidates should demonstrate excellent Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, support diverse learners, and create a welcoming environment. Additional beneficial qualifications include current first aid/CPR certification, oxygen administration training, and strong safety and risk management awareness.
