Job Description

They are looking for Baggage Handlers to help keep airport operations running safely, smoothly, and efficiently. About the Role As a Baggage Handler, you'll play a vital role in supporting airline operations by ensuring baggage and cargo are loaded, unloaded, and transferred accurately and on time. You may work within the Baggage Make-Up area or on the Ramp, depending on your experience and skills. You'll help ensure that luggage and cargo reach their destinations safely and efficiently, while always maintaining the highest safety, security, and performance standards required by both the company and our airline partners. Key Responsibilities Operate the automated Baggage Handling System to process passenger luggage. Prepare and deliver Unit Load Devices (ULDs) and/or baggage carts for departing and arriving flights. Receive, weigh (if applicable), and deliver crew baggage and personal effects to and from aircraft. Unload arriving baggage in line with inbound load messages, and coordinate transfer or transit baggage as required. Support the Ramp team in loading and unloading baggage between the terminal and aircraft. Unload incoming cargo and transfer it to the Cargo team. Operate forklifts and mechanical lift equipment to move ULDs and cargo between aircraft and storage areas. Safely handle fragile items and ensure they are sent to the correct collection area. Load and unload passenger baggage from carousels. Liaise with airline representatives as needed to ensure smooth baggage handling operations. Maintain accurate baggage handling records. Assist passengers with baggage-related inquiries in accordance with the baggage complaints procedure. Job Requirements Must successfully complete all pre-employment checks, including Ministry of Justice (MOJ) clearance, drug and alcohol testing, and a medical examination. Must be willing and able to work rotational shift patterns, including weekends and public holidays. Must hold a valid Class 1 Full New Zealand Driver’s Licence. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a valid Airside Driving Permit (ADP). Must be physically fit and capable of performing tasks that involve manual handling, lifting, and standing for extended periods. Must have good written and spoken English skills and be comfortable using a computer. Knowledge of aircraft safety procedures is an advantage, although full training will be provided.
