About the Role This is a full-time, permanent Secondary Science teaching opportunity based in Gisborne within a well-established, values-led independent school. You’ll teach Science across Years 9-13, working with students both face to face and through a structured online learning model. The school is looking for someone who can deliver engaging, well-planned Science programmes and support students to build confidence, curiosity, and strong academic foundations. Experience teaching within the New Zealand Curriculum is essential, with NCEA Science experience strongly preferred. You’ll be supported by clear systems, shared resources, modern technology, and a wider network of subject specialists across New Zealand. What You’ll Be Doing Teaching junior and senior Science across Years 9-13 Delivering a mix of face-to-face and online lessons Planning engaging learning programmes aligned with the New Zealand Curriculum Supporting students working towards NCEA achievement Using digital tools to deliver structured and interactive lessons Working collaboratively with Science teachers across a national school network Contributing to a calm, focused, and respectful learning environment About You You’ll be a New Zealand registered teacher who: Has recent teaching experience within a New Zealand school Understands the New Zealand Curriculum and NCEA requirements Can confidently teach Science across junior and senior levels Builds strong, respectful relationships with students Is comfortable teaching through both classroom and online formats Uses technology confidently as part of everyday teaching Values structure, collaboration, and consistent expectations Experience teaching senior NCEA Science subjects will be highly regarded.
