Engage Recruitment Support – Hastings, North Island Our client is a respected Hawke's Bay Chartered Accountancy practice witha strong reputationfor delivering trusted accounting, taxation, and business advisory services to a diverse client base. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounting Manager to join the firm and play a key role in leading both people and client relationships. This role is suited for an accomplished public practice professional who has built their career within a New Zealand Chartered Accountancy environment and is ready to take the next step into a senior leadership position. You’llcombine technicalexpertise, commercial acumen, andpeopleleadership to help drive exceptional outcomes for both clients and the wider team. Key responsibilities will include: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accountants, supporting their professional growth and performance. Manage workflow, resourcing, and deadlines to ensure efficient delivery of high-quality client work. Oversee and review financial statements, tax returns, and compliance engagements. Provide expert accounting, taxation, and business advisory services to clients. Deliver value-added advisory support including management reporting, systems improvements, and ad-hoc project work. Build trusted relationships with business owners and key stakeholders. Maintain strong quality control and workflow management processes across the practice. You will ideally bring: Current or recent experience within a New Zealand Chartered Accountancy practice. Strong technical accounting and taxationexpertise. Experience reviewing compliance work and providing business advisory services. Previousleadership, mentoring, or team management experience. The ability to manage client relationships confidently and independently. A passion for developing people and contributing to the growth of the practice.
