Family Harm Practitioner

Te Puna Oranga is a Kaupapa Māori agency, established in 1984, who work with Whānau affected by sexual violence. In addition, we have a small team dedicated to working within the Integrated Safety Response (ISR), Christchurch's response to family violence. We provide other services such as Counselling, Social Work advocacy and education, Youth mentoring, and Sexual Violence Crisis Response. The successful candidate would be working within our ISR team. Qualifications & experience Ability to connect with whanau using tools of Whanaungatanga and Manaakitanga to establish trusting relationships Understand the dynamics of family violence, assess risk and ensure safety for all Whānau Understand the impacts of trauma on all whanau members and engage appropriate services to support trauma management Understand and use Te Reo and Tikanga Māori tools to support whanau Ability to self-manage and be self-directed, use initiative, engage support, think quickly, Understand and adopt a safety-first approach Ability to understand that Whānau have the answers and to facilitate these answers to create goal setting Provide feedback to Team Leaders, Collaborative Partners, CEO's and Directors. Ability to share information but also keep confidentiality Ability to work independently but also work in a team Tasks & responsibilities Engage Whānau affected by family violence Receive Whānau referrals from agencies and provide ongoing support actively liaise with other agencies to ensure best support outcomes for whanau Use Whakawhanaungatanga and Manaakitanga to establish trusting relationships with Whānau. Ensure safety and safety planning and risk management for all Whānau members Supports Whānau to identify goals and work towards achieving positive outcomes Ability to identify dynamic risk factors and mitigate the risk Develop and maintain positive relationships with agencies both Government and Non-government to advocate for and support Whānau Working with all Whānau members including perpetrators & victims. Work within a Kaupapa Māori agency using Te Reo and Tikanga Māori for best positive outcomes for Whānau Access Professional Supervision on a monthly basis #J-18808-Ljbffr
