Contribute to transforming the future of health in this Public Health Nurse role. Part-time 0.8 FTE, fixed-term position for 12 months based in Whangarei. Paid on the relevant nursing collective. About the Role As a Public Health Nurse, you will deliver public health nursing services across the community. Public health nursing includes assessment of population health, attention to the multiple determinants of health, an emphasis on primary prevention, and continued commitment to best evidence-based public health nursing practice. About the Service The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored. About you Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse Holds a current Annual Practising Certificate An ongoing commitment to professional development A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for underserved whānau and communities Be prepared to work towards, or already be, a whole-of-life authorised vaccinator Demonstrated competence in the application of Māori health models to Nursing practice Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment.
