Convergence Partners – Auckland, North Island 12-month fixed term, full-time, ASAP start Auckland based, hybrid (on-site required initially) A hybrid role bridging IT and business strategy Business Data Analyst 12-month fixed term, full-time, ASAP start Auckland based, hybrid (on-site required initially) A hybrid role bridging IT and business strategy We're looking for a Business Data Analyst to join a New Zealand organisation investing in business transformation and building out its data and reporting capability across multiple business units, for an initial 12-month term. This is a hybrid role bridging IT and business strategy: you'll use data from multiple sources to evaluate operations, identify trends, and uncover solutions - turning raw data into the insights that help leaders make informed decisions, improve performance, and support business transformation. What You’ll Do Gather and organise data from multiple internal and external sources, including the organisation's data warehouse Analyse that data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement Build reports and visualisations that communicate findings clearly to stakeholders Support business units with data-driven recommendations Input into transformation projects, including scoping programmes of work, systems consolidation, and financial reporting requirements Track transformation programme outcomes against budget Analyse KPIs and operational metrics to assess business performance and identify areas for improvement Assist in developing predictive models and forecasting tools, working with the data management team Essential Tertiary qualification in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related discipline 2+ years' experience in data analysis, reporting, or a related role Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to keep senior stakeholders informed and aligned What Would Set You Apart Candidates should be able to demonstrate a clear line of sight into modern data analysis using AI toolsets, with the ability to speak to specific use cases. Direct experience with data pipelines, semantic layer modelling, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Jupyter Notebooks is not mandatory; however, this is an area in some depth would be beneficial.
