Senior Lecturer Postgraduate Nursing and Research QJumpers Napier - Hawkes Bay Full Time Application Closes 20 Aug 2026 Postsecondary Teacher We are seeking a Senior Lecturer Postgraduate Nursing and Research to join our School of Nursing team in Hawke’s Bay. This is a permanent, full-time position (36 hours per week, worked across five days per week). The role provides academic leadership in postgraduate nursing education through teaching, research supervision, scholarly activity, and curriculum development. Working closely with nursing staff, postgraduate learners, clinical partners, and healthcare stakeholders, you will play a key role in supporting learner success and strengthening the connection between nursing education, research, and professional practice. The appointing salary for this role will be dependent on skills and experience. The Senior Lecturer Postgraduate Nursing and Research is based in the School of Nursing reporting to the Head of School, and will be responsible for: Design, deliver and evaluate high-quality teaching, learning and assessment within postgraduate nursing programmes. Supervise and support Master's learners undertaking research projects and dissertations. Contribute to research, scholarly activity, publication and knowledge dissemination. Develop and review curriculum, learning resources and assessment practices. Ensure programme quality, compliance and academic standards are maintained. Provide academic leadership within the School of Nursing. Collaborate with clinical partners, professional bodies and external stakeholders. Mentor, guide and support postgraduate learners to achieve successful outcomes. Promote learner engagement, wellbeing, retention and academic success. To be successful in this role you will have: Current registration as a Nurse with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current APC. A PhD or equivalent doctoral qualification in health or a related discipline. Extensive and contemporary nursing practice experience. Proven tertiary teaching experience, preferably within postgraduate nursing education. Experience supervising postgraduate research students. A strong record of research, scholarship and academic publication. Excellent teaching, facilitation and learner engagement skills. Advanced written, verbal and digital communication skills. Strong organisational, planning and workload management abilities.
