Asset Reliability Mechanical Engineer - Rolling Stock Engineer Hyundai Rotem Company – Wellington Central, North Island Location: Thorndon Quay, Wellington (On-site) About the Role As an Asset Reliability Engineer at Hyundai Rotem, you will be part of a medium-sized Engineering team responsible for supporting the engineering management of Greater Wellington's Electric and Carriage train fleets that have significant maintenance and upgrade programmes due in the next 5 years. By collaborating with maintenance, inventory and project management teams as well as key local and international suppliers and stakeholders, you will ensure the smooth operation and reliability of our passenger train fleet. With strong skills in analysis, documentation, independent decision-making, and the ability to take initiative, you have the opportunity to shape this role according to your expertise. What you will do: Asset engineering on a wide range of technical systems including but not limited to; heavy engineering, pneumatics, high voltage electrical systems and electronics, and passenger systems like doors, HVAC and interiors. Collaborate with a wide range of teams, stakeholders and suppliers. Assess fleet performance using data analyses. Optimize asset life through preventative and corrective maintenance strategies. Implement changes through FRACAS and engineering change processes. Create and maintain technical documentation, drawings and maintenance manuals. Understand and apply relevant rail operating code, procedures and regulations to engineering activities Who We Are Looking For: Bachelor's degree (level 8) in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering 5+ years in an industrial setting an advantage Experience in an asset-rich environment, with a sound understanding of asset management practices Project management experience Interest and understanding of electrical and mechanical systems Railway experience is desired but not required Candidates must either be a New Zealand citizen or hold a valid New Zealand work visa to be considered.
