About the role Join our dedicated Community Health Service team in Wellington, where Health Care Assistants (HCAs) play a vital role in supporting patients in their homes. Our service focuses on assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and ongoing support for individuals and families. As an HCA, you'll assist patients with daily living activities such as personal care and household tasks. These patients may be recovering from surgery, illness, or require rehabilitation support. You'll work closely with our District Nurses to ensure high-quality, person centred care. We offer a comprehensive orientation programme and ongoing professional development to support your growth in the role. Note: Police vetting is required for applicants not currently employed by Capital Coast. This is a casual HCA position, with no permanent shifts. Shifts: Morning: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Afternoon: 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM. Days: Monday to Sunday. Key Responsibilities Provide personal care and home help in a community setting Support patients transitioning from hospital to home Assist with hygiene, mobility, nutrition, elimination, rehabilitation, and medication prompting Work under the delegation and direction of a Registered Nurse About the Team Our Wellington based HCA team is part of a collaborative and supportive environment located at the Ewart building, 2 Coromandel Street, Newtown, Wellington. About you To be successful in this role, you are required to have: Completed level three NZQA qualifications in Community Support Services (or its equivalent).
