About the Role This is an opportunity to build a fulfilling and meaningfulcareer in one of New Zealand's most established Intellectual Disability MentalHealth Services. You will provide specialist assessment, diagnosis andtreatment for adults with intellectual disabilities and co-existing mentalhealth needs. Working across two community teams, you will support people withcomplex presentations including dual diagnosis, neurodevelopmental disorders,challenging behaviours and those subject to the IDCC&R Act 2003. About the Service The Intellectual Disability Mental Health Service providesspecialist assessment and treatment for adults with intellectual disabilitiesand complex mental health needs throughout Canterbury. The service consists of both inpatient andoutpatient settings. This is a collegial, values-driven service wheremultidisciplinary collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. About you We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist who combines clinical excellence withcompassion, creativity, an ability to adapt mainstream therapies and a genuine commitmentto improving outcomes for people with intellectual disabilities. Registration with the NZ Psychology Board and current Annual Practicing Certificate is essential. You will have a clear understanding of the Social Model ofDisability and the New Zealand Disability Strategy is essential. Expertise in Applied Behavioural Analysis would be anadvantage.
