Job Description
Pinpoint is an independent testing laboratory established in 2020 by EastPack, New Zealand’s leading grower-owned kiwifruit post-harvest company, to provide sampling and maturity clearance testing to customers across the Bay of Plenty region. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced analytical laboratory professional with strong LC-MS/MS capability and a passion for delivering accurate, high-quality results, to bring your technical expertise, problem-solving skills and attention to detail and join our Pinpoint team as an Analytical Laboratory Analyst on a full-time permanent basis. About the Role As an Analytical Laboratory Analyst, reporting to the Analytical Laboratory Manager, you will play a key role in processing samples, operating LC-MS/MS instrumentation, maintaining quality systems and supporting the delivery of reliable analytical testing services. You will work to strict timelines, troubleshoot instrumentation and procedures, and contribute to a collaborative team that takes pride in getting things right. Responsibilities of this role include: Operating LC-MS/MS instruments and processing analytical samples accurately and efficiently. Preparing samples and reagents in line with established methods, documented procedures and quality requirements. Performing routine equipment calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting across LC and MS instrumentation. Recording and reporting data accurately using laboratory information systems and approved documentation processes. Supporting method development, validation and continuous improvement activities where required. Working safely and maintaining high standards of laboratory housekeeping, hygiene and compliance. Managing competing priorities and delivering results within strict turnaround times, particularly during peak seasonal periods. Working collaboratively with laboratory colleagues while also being confident to work independently when needed. About You You will be a technically capable analyst who is calm under pressure, meticulous with detail and comfortable working in a fast-paced laboratory. You enjoy solving problems, taking ownership of your work and contributing positively to a team environment. Essential requirements At least three years’ experience operating LC-MS/MS instruments and processing samples. Strong troubleshooting and maintenance capability across LC and MS systems. Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet strict deadlines. Strong attention to detail, sound documentation practices and a commitment to quality. A team-focused approach, with the ability to work independently when required. Flexibility to work variable hours across the year, including longer hours during peak season. Preferred requirements Experience working in a commercial laboratory environment. Experience with method development, including acquisition and processing methods. Experience working in an IANZ or ISO-accredited laboratory. A relevant tertiary qualification in chemistry, biochemistry or a related scientific discipline.
