As a Youth Services Officer,you'llhelp deliver engaging programmes and activities while creating an environment where young people aged 13–19 feel welcome, supported, and empowered. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging space whererangatahican connect,participate, and develop confidence through programmes, events, and positive relationships. Every day is different. One day you might be running an activity, the next supporting a young person, collaborating with community organisations, or helping deliver an exciting event. This is apart-time role,30 hours perweek,Tuesday–Saturday. Responsibilities Creating a fun, inclusive, and welcoming space for young people to connect andparticipate. Planning and delivering engaging youth programmes, activities, and events. Building positive relationships with rangatahi and supporting their personal and social development. Working alongside community organisations, schools, and youth service providers to create opportunities for young people. Providing guidance and referring young people to appropriate support services when needed. Supporting the delivery of youth-focused library and Council services. What you will bring: Experience working with young people in a youth development, community, education, or similar setting. Experience planning and delivering programmes, activities, or events. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. A creative, inclusive, and empathetic approach to working with rangatahi. The ability to remain calm, professional, and solutions-focused in challenging situations. A collaborative approach and willingness to work as part of a supportive team.
