At Liger Trading NZ, you'll work alongside experienced traders, software developers and quantitative analysts, using technology to analyse markets, improve trading strategies and make real-time decisions. What You'll Do Monitor real-time algorithmic trading across global financial markets. Analyse market data and identify trading opportunities. Monitor trading performance and risk. Backtest and evaluate trading strategies. Work with traders and developers to improve algorithms and automated trading systems. Analyse economic events, news and market behaviour. Use AI tools and data analytics to improve workflows and decision-making. Produce reports and insights that support trading decisions. Continuously identify opportunities to improve systems and processes. About You You may be a recent graduate or have up to two years' experience in a technical or analytical field. We're particularly interested in graduates with degrees in: Computer Science Mathematics Statistics Economics (with strong quantitative skills) You'll likely have: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail. Programming experience with Python, C++, Java, C#, MATLAB, R or similar. Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor or GitHub Copilot. A genuine interest in algorithms, automation and technology. The ability to learn quickly and perform under pressure. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Built software or AI projects. Participated in hackathons or coding competitions. Competed in mathematics, programming or data science competitions.
