We're searching for an experienced Senior Conference & Events Co-ordinator to join our Conference & Events team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, enjoys creating memorable guest experiences, and takes pride in delivering seamless conferences and events. Reporting to the Conference & Incentives Manager, you'll be the senior member of our Conference team, supporting the day-to-day operation of the department and acting as a key point of contact during conference and event service. You'll work alongside the Conference & Incentives Manager to ensure events are delivered seamlessly while providing guidance and support to colleagues and maintaining the high service standards Grand Millennium Auckland is known for. What you’ll be doing Supporting the day-to-day operation of the Conference department to ensure exceptional event delivery. Acting as the senior operational team member during conference and event service. Providing guidance and on-the-job support to Conference team members. Building strong relationships with conference organisers and ensuring every detail is delivered with care. Coordinating with the Kitchen, Food & Beverage and other hotel departments to deliver seamless conferences and events. Ensuring conference rooms are prepared to hotel standards and client specifications. Assisting with training and onboarding new team members. Supporting the Conference & Incentives Manager with rostering, stock control and departmental administration as required. Identifying opportunities to enhance the guest experience and maximise conference revenue through upselling conference services where appropriate. Maintaining conference equipment and ensuring all event spaces are presentation-ready. Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety, compliance and operational excellence. Taking ownership of guest enquiries and resolving issues promptly to create memorable experiences. What you’ll bring We're looking for someone who leads by example through their professionalism, experience and passion for hospitality. You'll enjoy supporting those around you, remain calm under pressure, and take pride in delivering exceptional service and creating memorable guest experiences. To be successful in this role, you'll bring: Previous experience in Conferences & Events, Banquets or Food & Beverage, with experience in a senior or supervisory capacity. A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences. Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills. Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail. The ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced hotel environment. Experience coordinating conferences, meetings or large-scale events. Confidence supporting and mentoring team members to deliver outstanding service. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure. A proactive approach with a willingness to go the extra mile. Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays. Experience using Opera PMS or other hotel management systems (advantageous). Previous experience in Conferences & Events, Banquets or Food & Beverage, with experience in a senior or supervisory capacity.
